Bittensor for AI app builders

You're building an app on AI models and want to cut the bill. This is where Bittensor is strongest. Chutes and Green Compute give you open models through an OpenAI-style API, and SayGM routes to Claude, GPT and Gemini with one key. Check how each one takes payment before you commit.

Start with these 3

SN64Live

Chutes

Pay-as-you-go access to open models for chat, images, video, speech and music, with an OpenAI-style API.

First stepSwap your base URL to Chutes for one feature and compare cost and quality. Note that it takes TAO.

Web app and APIPricing not listed

The pricing page confirms paying in TAO; card payment and a free trial aren't confirmed.

SN28Live

SayGM

One API key for Claude, GPT, Gemini and open models, with an average saving of about 25% in its own table.

First stepPoint a test environment at SayGM and compare a week of bills.

Web app and APIPricing not listed

The headline says up to 70% cheaper, but its own table shows about 25% average savings, and the payment method isn't stated.

SN110Live

Green Compute

Call Llama, Qwen or Mistral through an OpenAI-style API, top up by card, on renewable energy.

First stepTop up the $5 minimum by card and run your test suite against it.

Web app and APIPay by card

$5 minimum top-up by card or crypto, though the site also shows a Join Waitlist button.

Train your own AI models across many scattered machines, either yourself with an SDK or managed.

  • Run your own model training jobs through the IOTA SDK
  • Hand a defined training job to the team to run for you
APIPricing not listed

No pricing or sign-up is described; the managed option starts by emailing the team.

Questions

Do I need TAO to use these?

No for Green Compute, which is free to start or take normal payment. Chutes and SayGM don't say on their site how you pay, so check before you sign up.

What doesn't Bittensor cover yet?

Uptime guarantees and enterprise contracts vary by provider, so check them before you move production traffic.

What is a Bittensor subnet?

Bittensor is a network of 128 subnets. Each one is a competition where miners do a job, like serving AI models or renting out GPUs, and validators score the work. Some subnets also sell what they produce as a normal product. This guide only recommends those.
